Working method
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I use this method in my work. CBT is brief therapy based on understanding the interaction between thoughts, emotions and behaviors. My work is organized around several phases: diagnosis, treatment plan, therapeutic treatment and evaluation.
The diagnosis
The first phase is the diagnosis phase. It makes it possible to collect the information necessary to assess the problem. Information is collected using discussion sessions, questionnaires and sometimes observation sessions. The diagnosis phase can last several sessions (parent & child appointment, child alone appointment, parents alone appointment). Once the problem is clarified, I will present you with a treatment plan.
The treatment plan
The treatment plan explains the conclusions of the diagnostic phase and proposes a therapeutic treatment adapted to the problem. If you agree with this, we can begin therapy.
Therapeutic treatment
The first sessions serve to establish a bond of trust essential to therapeutic work. As the sessions progress, the tools necessary to improve the symptoms are put in place depending on the age using exercises, games, reflections and psycho-education. The work continues after the session in the form of small exercises. If your child comes to therapy, it is also desirable to combine it with regular parental guidance appointments. Parental guidance appointments allow you to better understand your child's needs and thus better respond to them. This increases the success of therapy and gives you valuable tools to continue supporting him after therapy. These meetings also allow you to talk about the difficulties encountered and to relieve possible blockages.
The evaluation
After several sessions I will offer you an appointment to assess together the improvement of the symptoms. If the therapy seems to have had a positive effect, we can decide together whether to stop the therapy. If the problem seems to have changed or new elements appear during the sessions, it may be necessary to revise the treatment plan and resume therapeutic treatment.
